Russia's money base in broad definition up 1.9% to 7.4 trln rubles in June - CB

MOSCOW. July 8 (Interfax) - Russia's money base in broad definition in June 2011 increased by 1.9% to 7.41 trillion rubles from 7.269 trillion rubles, the Central Bank of Russia said in information posted on its website.

The money base went down in January-June 2011 by 9.5% from 8.19 trillion rubles posted on January 1.

The money base increased by 3% from 7.195 trillion rubles on July 1, 2010. The annual growth rate a came to 6% in the previous month.

The broad money base includes cash issued by the Central Bank, the balance on reserve accounts in the Central Bank, correspondent accounts and bank deposits in the Central Bank, investment by banks in Central Bank bonds, and other obligations of the Central Bank on operations with banks in the national currency.

The broad money base describes changes in money supply by the monetary authorities.
