Azerenergy boosts electricity output by 5.2% in H1
BAKU. July 11 (Interfax) - OJSC Azerenergy, Azerbaijan's electricity production monopoly, produced 10 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in the first quarter of 2011, up 5.2% year-on-year, the company told Interfax.
This included heat output, up 15.1% to 8.4 billion kilowatt hours and hydroelectric station output, down 29% to 1.6 billion kilowatt hours.
Total production of electricity in June 2011 came to 1.3 billion kilowatt hours, of which 1 billion kilowatt hours had been produced by combined heat and power plants and 300,000 kilowatt hours by hydroelectric stations.
It was earlier reported that Azerenergy reduced electricity output by 1.1% to 18.4 billion kilowatt hours in 2010. According to the Azeri government forecast, electricity output should reach 18.789 billion kilowatt hours this year.
