Ukraine's Energoatom ups electricity production 0.9% in H1
KYIV. July 12 (Interfax) - All the electricity generators making up the Ukrainian national power company Energoatom produced 0.9% more electric power year-on-year in the first half of this year, increasing production to 44.100 billion kWt hours.
Energoatom sources told Interfax that nuclear power stations exceeded the output target by 2.5%.
The Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant increased power generation 4.6% to 20.560 billion kWt hours, the one in Khmelnytsky - 17% to 8.595 billion kWt hours, but the South Ukraine station produced 11.6% less power (7.385 billion kWt hours) and the Rivne station 9.9% less (7.446 billion kWt hours).
The Tashlyk Pumped-Storage Electric Power Station produced 10.5% more power (85.2 million kWt hours), the Donuzlav Wind Power Plant 140% more (3.4 million kWt hours). The Alexandrov Hydropower Plant (HPP) produced 7.5% less power (25.9 million kWt hours).
Electrical power output at the stations increased 0.9% to 41.479 billion kWt hours.
As reported, Energoatom electric power stations increased production 7.5% last year to 89.360 billion kWt hours of electricity and output 7.7% to 84.045 billion kWt hours.
Energoatom operates all four of the nuclear power stations in Ukraine, with fifteen generating units outfitted with water-cooled fast-breeder reactors with installed generating capacity of 13.835 gigawatts.
Energoatom operates the Tashlyk hydroelectric plant, with installed capacity of 302 mWt in turbine operating mode and built at the lower reservoir of Oleksandrov HPP (11.5 mWt), which along with South Ukraine NPP constitute Energoatom's South Ukraine power complex. Energoatom also operates the Donuzlav Wind Power Plant.
