Lithuanian President sees no possibility of agreeing with Gazprom on reducing gas prices

VILNIUS. July 12 (Interfax) - Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite see no possibility for reaching an agreement with OJSC Gazprom for reducing gas prices for the country.

"It is difficult to reach an agreement with Gazprom on reducing price since, as I have mentioned, Gazprom's prices are political in character and not economic," she said at a press conference on Tuesday.

"The difference in price between what Gazprom applies for Lithuania and world prices, clearly bears a political nuance. Therefore, everything depends on policy and the position of Russia's leadership on partnership with Lithuania," Grybauskaite said.
