Azerbaijani GDP grows 0.9% in H1
BAKU. July 14 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan's gross domestic product amounted to 22.5 billion manat for the first half of this year, a 0.9% year-on-year increase, the State Statistics Committee website says.
The country's non-oil sector accounted for 48% of GDP, or 10.8 billion manat (up 7.2% year-on-year). The oil sector contributed the other 52%. Gross production volume in the production and refining of gas and oil contracted 5.1% from the first half of last year.
Industry accounted for 54.7% of GDP, agriculture - 4.6%, construction - 6.9%, services in the field of transport vehicle sales and repair - 7.3%, transportation - 6.2%, hotel and catering services - 1.3%, communications and information technologies - 1.7%, social and other services - 11.4%, and taxes - 5.9%.
As reported, Azerbaijan's GDP expanded 5% last year. The government projects it will grow 3.8% this year.
