MICEX trading opens up, index gains 0.19% early

MOSCOW. July 18 (Interfax) - The MICEX Stock Exchange opened Tuesday with blue chip share prices on the upswing after a Monday-evening slump, and the MICEX index was up 0.19% at 1690.92 points by 10:31 a.m. Moscow time.

The RTS index was down 0.11% by that time, but most benchmark shares on the MICEX had gain from 0.1% to 1.1% amid brightening world stock and commodity markets.

Rostelecom was up 1.1% on the MICEX, VTB had gained 0.53%, Sberbank of Russia 0.5%, (the bank's prefs were up 0.48%), Gazprom 0.46%, Norilsk Nickel 0.4%, Gazprom Neft 0.35%, RusHydro 0.35%, Federal Grid Company UES 0.34%, Rosneft 0.14%, Tatneft 0.13%, and Lukoil 0.1%.

Polyus Gold was down 9.2% and Surgutneftegas 0.18%.
