MTS offers $400 mln-$500 mln for Belarusian state stake in JV, half of price Minsk wants

MINSK. July 21 (Interfax) - Russian Mobile TeleSystems is offering barely half the price Minsk wants for the state's 51% stake in their joint venture, MTS LLC, the head of the Belarusian State Property Committee said.

"Russian MTS is offering us $400 million-$500 million for the state stake. There has been a valuation and we have said that our 51% stake is worth $960 million-$970 million," State Property Committee Chairman Georgy Kuznetsov said at a press conference in Minsk on Thursday.
