Norilsk Nickel boosted IFRS net profit 90% in 2010 - analysts

MOSCOW. July 21 (Interfax) - MMC Norilsk Nickel posted a net profit of $5.034 billion in 2010 under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), 90% more than in 2010, analysts at investment companies and banks told Interfax in a consensus forecast.

Revenue rose 44.2% to $14.639 billion and EBITDA was up 66.3% to $7.343 billion, according to the forecast.

Norilsk Nickel had a net profit of $2.651 billion in 2009 on revenue of $10.155 billion. EBITDA amounted to $4.416 billion.

Norilsk Nickel may publish IFRS results for 2010 on Friday, July 22.

Norilsk Nickel produced 297,000 tonnes of nickel in 2010, 5.1% more than in 2009. Copper production fell 3% to 389,000 tonnes, palladium output rose 2% to 2.861 million oz and platinum production was up 5% to 693,000 oz.
