Mosenergo generates 7.1% more electricity in H1
MOSCOW. July 22 (Interfax) - Moscow power company OJSC Mosenergo , which is controlled by gas giant Gazprom , generated 7.1% more electricity - 34.2 billion kWt hours - in the first half of this year, the company press service reported on Friday.
Output of thermal energy was down 1.7% at 40 million gCal.
The usage coefficient for installed Mosenergo electrical power generating capacity was 66.2% for the half (61.8% in H1 2011).
Earlier, company General Director Vitaly Yakovlev said that Mosenergo was looking to slightly up power sales in 2011 with a redistribution of load from OJSC Moscow United Energy Company (MOEK) to the genco's stations, and also with entry onto new sales markets in the area outside Moscow.
Mosenergo generated 69.9 million gCal of thermal energy in 2010, 30.7 million gCal in Q1 this year.
Mosenergo is one of the largest gencos in Russia, with combined generating capacity of 12 gWt. The Moscow city administration holds a blocking stake in the company.
