TNK-BP plans to up gas sales 150% in Orenburg by 2017

MOSCOW. July 25 (Interfax) - TNK-BP plans to up gas sales in Orenburg region 150% by 2017 to 2.5 billion cubic meters per year, the company said in a press release.

The increase will result from a development strategy for the gas and energy business in Orenburg region. The strategy involves construction of additional infrastructure for the collection, transportation and processing of associated petroleum gas.

Capacity at the Zaykinsky Gas Processing Plant will double to 2.2 billion cubic meters per year and gas processing depth will also be increased. In addition, a gas treatment unit will be launched at the Pokrovskaya field. Construction works on the second phase of the Zaykinsky plant and the Pokrovskaya unit are expected to end in 2012.

TNK-BP also plans to complete construction of a railway terminal to ship liquid hydrocarbons from Tyulpan Station, expanding logistics and marketing opportunities.
