U.S.-Russian conflict around Magnitsky foolishness - Fedotov
MOSCOW. July 28 (Interfax) - The conflict between Moscow and Washington over denied U.S. entry to Russian officials from the so-called "Magnitsky list" has no prospects, Mikhail Fedotov, chairman of the Presidential Council for Human Rights, said.
"I am only concerned about the problem of reciprocity: If you deny one visa, so shall we; if you deny two visas, so shall we. If we act on this principle, it will be a mad folly," he told a press conference at the Interfax head office on Thursday.
The list of U.S. Senator Benjamin Cardin, containing the names of the persons responsible for the death of Hermitage Capital lawyer Magnitsky at a jail, is not as dreadful as the one prepared by the Presidential Council, he said.
"Our list is more frightful, it does not close the route to America, but it opens one to the Butyrka prison," Fedotov added.
