Dixy boosts revenue 22% in H1

MOSCOW. July 29 (Interfax) - Russian retailer Dixy boosted revenue 21.8% to 37.38 billion rubles in the first half of 2011, the company said in a statement.

In dollar terms, revenue rose 28% to $1.3 billion in the six months.

Revenue in June was up 25.9% to 6.42 billion rubles.

The Victoria chain, which Dixy acquired in June, is not included in the first-half financials. Dixy will include Victoria's results beginning in July.

Retail revenue was up 23.8% to 32.17 billion rubles at Dixy stores, up 10.6% to 3.81 billion rubles at Megamarts and up 10.2% to 1.17 billion rubles at Minimarts.

The company opened 82 new Dixy stores in the six months, 11 Kvartal neighborhood stores and one Victoria supermarket. It closed 13 Dixy stores and 13 Kvartal stores.
