Mixed trend for Russian shares in early trading
MOSCOW. Aug 2 (Interfax) - Russian share trading began Tuesday on a mixed note as the situation in the international equity and commodity markets worsened somewhat due to profit taking following recent growth.
The MICEX stock index was down 0.04% to 1724.47 by 10.31 a.m. and the RTS was down 0.42% to 1977.36.
Benchmark stocks rose or fell by up to 1%, with losses for VTB (0.3%), Gazprom (0.2%), Gazprom Neft (0.03%), Rostelecom (RTS: 0.5%), Sberbank (0.2%) and Tatneft (0.4%), but gains for Lukoil (0.3%), NOVATEK (RTS: NVTK (0.3%), MMC Norilsk Nickel (+0.1%), Polymetal (+0.9%), Polyus Gold (+0.4%) and Rosneft (+0.04%).
