SOCAR reduces petroleum product exports 26% in 7 mths

BAKU. Aug 2 (Interfax) - The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) exported 811,399 tonnes of petroleum productions in January-July 2011, down 26.4% year-on-year, the company told Interfax.

The company exported 697,816 tonnes of diesel fuel in the seven months, 64,714 tonnes of gasoline, 43,896 tonnes of aviation fuel and 4,973 tonnes of heating fuel.

Exports of petroleum production in July came to 103,012 tonnes, including 81,814 tonnes of diesel fuel, 17,245 tonnes of gasoline and 3,953 tonnes of aviation fuel.

Azerbaijan has two oil refineries - Azerneftyag and The Heydar Aliyev refinery in Baku. The country's total annual refining capacity is 22 million tonnes of oil. Both enterprises are part of SOCAR.
