Donskoi Tabak ups output 33% in H1
ROSTOV-ON-DON. Aug 2 (Interfax) - The company group Donskoi Tabak, the tobacco business complex of Rostov-based Agrokom Group, produced 14.1 billion cigarettes in the first half of 2011, 33% more year-on-year, the company said in a statement.
Product sales increased 26% to 13.9 billion cigarettes, including 2.2 billion exported for $21 million (up 82%).
The tobacco business complex increased sales revenues 38% to 9.9 billion rubles. EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) was up 38% at 1.1 billion rubles.
The director of Agrokom Group LLC's tobacco business complex, Sergei Sapotnitsky, is cited in the statement as saying that these increases were the product of increased product sales in northwestern Russia, Siberia, and the country's Far East with the integration late last year of the company Nevo Tabak.
The multi-sector holding Agrokom Group was formed in August of 2004. It has, in addition to the Donskoi Tabak group, companies engaged in the processing of meat (the TAVR company group), an agricultural complex, and other projects.
In Agrokom's tobacco business complex are OJSC Donskoi Tabak , the main asset, United Tobacco Company LLC, and Praimeri Don LLC.
