Ruble post substantial losses against dollar and euro in morning MICEX trading on Fri

MOSCOW. Aug 5 (Interfax) - The U.S. dollar and euro posted substantial gains on the MICEX in morning trades on Friday while the Russian ruble fell to its lowest point in over a month against the Central Bank's bi-currency basket (set at 0.45 euro and $0.55) following the collapse of world oil prices and stock markets.

By 11:30 am Moscow time, the dollar had increased by 21.5 kopecks from yesterday's close to 28.295 rubles/$1. The euro, by this time, came to 40.06 rubles/EUR1, up 31 kopecks from yesterday's close and 22 kopecks above the official rate.

During trading, the dollar increased to 28.42 rubles/$1, which is the highest posting for the currency sicne July 12. The euro reached a session high of 40.1 rubles/EUR1, its highest point sicne July 7.
