Ukrainian PM urged Russia, Kazakhstan to coordinate grain policy

KYIV. Aug 10 (Interfax) - Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan's aggregate grain export potential amounts to almost 75 million tonnes, and their coordinated actions on the grain market will yield positive results, Ukraine's Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said at the ninth meeting of a Ukrainian-Russian forum in Kyiv on Wednesday.

Azarov mentioned Federal Reserve System ex-head Alan Greenspan's recent interview and his rejection of the prospect of the United States' default, as the country could print as many dollars as needed.

"If printing like this is possible, one should go into quiet harbors of material resources, where big interests are involved. One should seek interaction in that part of the resources that never lose their value," Azarov said.

Ukraine's grain export potential is 24 million tonnes, Russia's is 35 million tonnes and Kazakhstan's is 15 million tonnes, he said.
