Ruble up against dollar, euro in August 11 MICEX trading

MOSCOW. Aug 11 (Interfax) - The dollar and the euro slipped in MICEX trading on August 11, making correction after losses amid mixed trends on capital markets and oil prices rising.

The dollar closed at 29.4705 rubles/$1, down 27.95 kopecks from August 10. The euro ended the day 15 kopecks down at 42.03 rubles/EUR1.

The bicurrency basket ($0.55 and EUR 0.45) finished a day of rather wide fluctuation (35.0-35.3 rubles) down 21 kopecks at 35.12 rubles.

The average weighted dollar rate gained 8.95 kopecks to 29.4496 rubles/$1 in MICEX Today and 12.33 kopecks to 29.5251 rubles/$1 in Tomorrow trades. Trading volume on the MICEX combined to $7.334 billion on the day, with $1.242 billion in Today and $6.091 billion in Tomorrow exchanges.

The average weighted euro rate lost 20.99 kopecks to 41.9286 rubles/EUR1 in Today and 18.3 kopecks to 41.9527 rubles/EUR1 in Tomorrow deals. Trading volume was EUR 343.286 million, with EUR 145.533 million in Today and EUR 197.753 million in Tomorrow trades.

Money market rates slipped a bit on Wednesday. The overnight MosPrime Rate was 3.81%, giving up 11 basis points from its previous level.
