Russia, Belarus must support each other in difficult global economic situation - Putin
MOSCOW. Aug 15 (Interfax) - Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said uncertainty and risks persist on global markets, and urged Belarus to coordinate its economic policy with Russia.
"The situation is uneasy on the global financial markets. These problems are rooted in the United States' lowered credit rating and by debt problems in the eurozone," Putin told the Russian-Belarusian Council of Ministers in Moscow.
"Overall, serious uncertainty and big risks persist in the global economy," he said.
"In such a situation, we must coordinate our efforts to the maximum and use instruments of mutual assistance effectively," Putin said.
