Ukraine narrows budget deficit 69% in Jan-July - Finance Ministry

KYIV. Aug 19 (Interfax) - Ukraine's budget narrowed 69% to 8.6 billion hryvni in the first seven months of 2011 compared with the same period last year, First Deputy Finance Ministry Anatoly Myarkovsky said.

"The deficit indicators are very moderate. The budget deficit through the first seven months was 8.6 billion hryvni. That is 69% less than on August 1 last year," Myarkovsky said at a briefing on Friday.

The revised 2011 budget projects revenue of 299.197 billion hryvni and spending at 337.639 billion hryvni.

The official exchange rate on August 19 was 7,971 hrivni/$1.
