Azerbaijan exports 4.4 bcm of gas in 7 mths
BAKU. Aug 24 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan exported 4.443 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas in January-July 2011, the State Customs Committee said.
"Gas exports from Azerbaijan in January-July totaled 4.443 bcm, according to metering data. Gas exported under streamlined customs procedures totaled 2.206 bcm worth $405.838 million in the seven months," it said.
State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) exports gas to Russia, Iran and Georgia, while gas produced at the Shah Deniz field in the Caspian is exported on the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzerum pipeline to Georgia and Turkey.
SOCAR exported 1.7 bcm of gas in 2010 and a total of 5.1 bcm of Shah Deniz gas was exported on the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzerum pipeline.
The government forecasts gas production to total 29.136 bcm in 2011.
