Russia and Congo sign memorandum for partnership in oil and gas
MOSCOW. Sept 2 (Interfax) - Russia and the Democratic Republic of Congo have signed a memorandum for partnership in oil and gas, Russia's Energy Ministry said in a statement.
The signees were Russian Energy Ministry Sergei Shmatko and Congolese Minister-Delegate, Head of Capital Construction Issues and Presidential Advisor Jean-Jacques Bouya.
Both sides have agreed to support interested organizations in both countries in areas such as the exploration and production of oil and gas, construction and modernization of oil and gas infrastructure, refining and petrochemical production.
According to the memorandum, both sides will exchange information on governmental programs and efforts to improve the legislative base for oil and gas refining. The document also foresees an exchange of experience, the installation of modern technologies, the implementation of high-tech pilot projects in oil and gas, social and educational projects, as well as partnerships between scientific and research organizations, technological centers and industrial enterprises.
