FCS to meet plan and transfer 5.4 trln rubles to Russian budget this year - Belyaninov

NOVO-OGAREVO. Sept 2 (Interfax) - Russia's Federal Customs Service (FCS) plans to meet its annual plan and transfer 5.4 trillion rubles to the Russian budget in 2011, the FCS' head, Andrei Belyaninov, said at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Friday.

"We haven't lost the collection pace. We also have grounds to think that we will meet the arduous goal of 5.4 trillion rubles, which should have collected by year's end," he said.

When asked by Putin about FCS operations within the framework of the Customs Union, Belyaninov said that exports from Russia to member states in the union came to $18.5 billion in January-August, which was a year-on-year increase of 37.7%. Exports to Kazakhstan went up by 34% and Belarus - 39.5%

"The vigilant concerns concerning economic processes in our [economic] space have been refuted by statistics, which indicate a positive trend," Belyaninov said.

During the meeting Belyaninov touched on OJSC Gazprom's operations, saying that the Russian gas giant's share in total collections "is optimistic in comparison with the previous year". "This is a good indicator for the company," Putin said.
