Kazakh brewery Rosa enters Russian market

PAVLODAR. Sept 6 (Interfax) - Rosa, a brewing company based in Kazakhstan's northern Pavlodar region, has opened offices in Novosibirsk and Omsk, a representative from the company's sales and logistics division, Alexander Petrochenko, has told Interfax.

"We plan to represent our entire product line in the Russian cities," Petrochenko said.

A 20-tonne wagon will be sent to each of the two cities this month, Petrochenko said. "Future delivery volumes will depend on sales," he said.

Initially, product prices will be somewhat lower "so they will be competitive," he said. "There is such an idea as 'entry price'. That is so [product] won't get lost among well-known brands on the Russian market," he said.

Barnaul will be the next Russian city in which Rosa opens offices.

Rosa is one of the biggest brewing outfits in Kazakhstan. The year 2008 saw the completion of a production overall, making it possible to increase finished-product output to 84 million liters per year. Rosa also produces non-alcohol beverages and mineral water.
