ARMZ's general director steps down, first deputy made acting head
MOSCOW. Sept 15 (Interfax) - Yakov Polunkin, the general director of OJSC Atomredmetzoloto (ARMZ), has stepped down from this position. His first deputy, Tigran Khachaturov, is the company's acting head, a source at ARMZ told Interfax.
The company's board of directors earlier called an extraordinary shareholder meeting for October 4. The meeting's agenda includes the preterm suspension of the authority of the company's' executive body and the election of a replacement.
ARMZ has not provided the reasons for Polunkin's departure. The company also did not confirm if he would be remaining at the company.
Polunkin was appointed general director in spring of this year. His predecessor, Vadim Zhivov, left the company to take up the president's seat at Uranium One. He also headed up ARMZ's board of directors and was made an advisor to the head of Rosatom.
