Naftogaz Ukrainy sells 0.1% more gas in 8mths

KYIV. Sept 16 (Interfax) - Ukraine's national oil and gas company Naftogaz Ukrainy sold 29.396 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas in January-August, a 0.1% year-on-year increase.

According to Energy and Coal Industry Ministry figures, the value of the gas it sold during the eight months was 55.479 billion hryvna, 36.1% more year-on-year.

The level of payment by all categories of natural gas consumers was 83.9% for the period versus 85.8% for the same eight months last year.

Naftogaz Ukrainy sold industrial enterprises and power companies 10.885 bcm of gas for 35.794 billion hryvna (payment level 89.8%), utilities companies 6.901 bcm for 12.449 billion hryvna (62.4%), households 11.004 bcm for 5.566 billion hryvna (90.6%), and public-sector organizations 588.6 million cubic meters for 1.645 billion hryvna (96.8%).

As reported, Naftogaz Ukrainy increased natural gas sales 20.4% last year to 46.053 bcm.

The company unites the largest oil and gas production outfits in Ukraine, has a monopoly over the gas transit and storage in underground facilities, and also over the transport of oil via pipeline within and through the country.
