Yakubson replaces Khasis as ACORT head
MOSCOW. Sept 19 (Interfax) - Ilya Yakubson, the president of the DIXY Group of Companies, has replaced Lev Khasis, X5 Retail CEO, as chairman of Russia's Association of Retail Trade Companies (ACORT), the organization said in a press release.
The press release said that this decision was made at a meeting of ACORT's presidium.
Khasis, who was recently appointed senior vice president for world retail leader Wal-Mart's international operations, headed ACORT's presidium since 2007. He will remain as a member of ACORT's presidium.
Yakubson has headed the DIXY Group since February 2009.
It was earlier reported that ACORT's social council is headed by Russian Agricultural Minister Yelena Skrynnik.
Founded in 2011, ACORT's membership currently includes leading retailers such as Ashan, DIXY, Magnit , Media-Markt-Saturn, M.Video , Sportsmaster, Snezhnaya Koroleva, X5 Retail Group, Eldorado, Euroset , Billa, Hyperglobus, Globus Gourmet, K-Rauta and others.
