Russian economy needs migrant workers
MOSCOW. Sept 20 (Interfax) - Russia needs an influx of migrants for stable economic growth, Deputy Director of the Russian Federal Migration Service (FMS) Yekaterina Yegorova told a press conference in Moscow on Tuesday.
"The objective situation is that we need an influx of migrants for efficient economic development," she said.
The overwhelming part of migrants comes to Russia from the CIS countries, Yegorova said.
"Migrants come here mainly from the countries of the former Soviet Union, their share reaches 80%. Already some 10 million people have entered Russia since the beginning of the year," the FMS deputy director said.
