Delegates of more than 30 countries gather in Novosibirsk for Interra-2011 forum

NOVOSIBIRSK. Sept 22 (Interfax) - The 3rd Interra international forum opened in Novosibirsk on Thursday.

Novosibirsk Governor Vasily Yurchenko said at the opening ceremony that the forum will forge a common ground between the government, educational community and businesses.

"Interra is an enormous field of work for all - the authorities, the educational community and businesses," Yurchenko said.

A discussion of a strategy of Russia's innovative development until 2020 will unfold at the forum, he also said.

"Interra will become a Russian referendum on the country's innovative development," Yurchenko said.

The forum will bring together representatives of 34 countries and 593 experts. Overall, 293 events have been planned. At least 40,000 people will join the forum, among them participants, guests and visitors of various mass events.

A symposium of experts, titled "Man in Innovation, Society in Innovation," an international symposium on regional innovative systems in the national innovative policies; an IN2IN investment forum, a Startup Campus and other events will be held on the first day. The forum will last until September 24.

"Innovative Man, Innovative State" is the motto of this year's Interra forum.
