Situation on Russian markets does not require emergency measures - Kudrin

MOSCOW. Sept 26 (Interfax) - Russia's markets do not need any emergency support measures to be taken, Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Kudrin, who is also the country's finance minister, told reporters in Washington.

"There is nothing now that requires any kind of emergency or extraordinary measures," Kudrin said. With market volatility increasing last month, the Finance Ministry and Central Bank began to more actively place temporarily idle budget funds in bank deposits. "And as you know, over the month we put four hundred billion rubles into deposits," he said.

"No special measures, other than a little support for liquidity, are required at this time," he said. It is early yet to talk about any kinds of additional support measures for market stability, he added.
