Kazakhstan export 2.7 mln tonnes of grain this year

ASTANA. Sept 27 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan has exported 2.711 million tonnes of grain so far in 2011, including 1.146 million tonnes of actual grain and 1.565 million tonnes of flour in grain equivalent, the Ministry of Agriculture said in a statement.

In the marketing year 2010-2011 (from July 1 to June 30) 5.9 million tonnes of grain, including flour in grain equivalent, has been exported, roughly level with the average yearly export volume in the last 10 years (6 million tonnes), the statement said.

In 2010 Kazakhstan's grain harvest was 12.2 million tonnes clean weight. This year the Ministry of Agriculture predicts a record harvest of over 25 million tonnes in bunker weight.
