Full gasification for Volgograd region by 2014 - Zubkov

VOLGOGRAD. Oct 4 (Interfax) - Volgograd region will see complete gasification by the end of 2013, First Deputy Prime Minister and Gazprom Board Chairman Victor Zubkov said at a ceremony to mark the launch of gas at a Stezhenskiy farm in Alekseevsky district.

Gasification in the region is currently at just 54%, he said.

"It is not acceptable to wait for dozens of years for gas to come into the settlements. I was given the task to provide 100% gasification in Volgograd region in 2011-2013," Zubkov said.

Much work is being done to provide gas supply in the region, he said. "Gazprom will allocate over 21 billion rubles to Volgograd region as part of its gasification program. The company is launching 68 inter-rural gas pipelines this year," the deputy prime minister said.

Gazprom spent around 29 billion rubles on regional gasification in 2011, he added.

The regional administration said Gazprom will allocate over 5.5 billion rubles in 2011 for the region's gasification and the regional budget will provide over 1.4 billion rubles.
