Kudrin's refusal to work in Medvedev's govt 'not an insult' - Peskov
MOSCOW. Oct 5 (Interfax) - The statement by ex-finance minister Alexei Kudrin that he is not prepared to work in the future government, if it is led by Dmitry Medvedev, was not an insult of either the incumbent president or prime minister, Prime Minister's Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"Words of disagreement with either Putin or Medvedev can and must by no means be interpreted as a personal insult," Peskov said on the Dozhd television channel on Tuesday.
These words must be interpreted unequivocally "as an unpreparedness or reluctance to work with any particular boss, but this is not a personal insult," he said. "It seems to me erroneous to perceive it in this way," the press secretary said.
Kudrin "made the statement without necessary clarifications and explanations, which are incompatible with the job Kudrin held in the Cabinet of Ministers who are appointed by the president," Peskov said, assessing the situation in general.
