Oil production almost doubles in Irkutsk Region in Jan-Sept
IRKUTSK. Oct 17 (Interfax) - Oil producers in Irkutsk Region increased output 90% year-on-year to almost 4.440 million tonnes in January-September, the territorial subsurface resource usage department Irkustknedra told Interfax.
Gas production was up 50% at 672.6 million cubic meters, that of gas condensate 30% at 63,300 tonnes.
A department representative said that the nine-month increase in oil production was due to companies getting connected to the Eastern Siberia - Pacific Ocean trunk oil pipeline (ESPO) and increasing capacity.
Irkustknedra figures indicate that the bulk of extraction in January-September was done by OJSC Verkhnechonskneftegas (owned by TNK-BP ) and Rosneft , UstKutneftegas LLC (part of Irkutsk Oil Company LLC), and CJSC Dulisma Oil Company (owned by Sberbank of Russia ).
Verkhnechonskneftegas produced 464,350 tonnes of oil during the period, 80% more year-on-year, and 337.5 million m3 of gas.
UstKutneftegas extracted 740,900 tonnes of oil (also 80% more), 163.1 million m3 of gas (up 70%), and 33,100 tonnes of gas condensate (up 60%).
Dulisma produced 191,600 tonnes of oil (up 370%), 94.7 million m3 of gas (up 40%), and 19,100 tonnes of gas condensate (up 40%).
