Number of Evraz's independent directors to grow to at least four
MOSCOW. Oct 17 (Interfax) - The number of independent non-executive directors on the board of directors of Evraz plc compared with the existing Evraz Group S.A. will grow from three to four, although a fifth is also possible.
In addition to Duncan Baxter, Karl Gruber and Terry Robinson, Sir Michael Pit is joining the board as an independent non-executive director. He was previously a partner at KPMG and treasurer of the Royal Family of the UK.
"In addition, the Company is currently considering the appointment of an additional independent non-executive director and intends to appoint such person, if identified, prior to the Company's next annual general meeting," Evraz said in a press release.
Alexander Abramov, one of Evraz's founders and co-owners, will remain the non-executive chairman of the board. His partner and company head Alexander Frolov will remain the executive director of the board.
Olga Pokrovskaya, Eugene Shvidler and Eugene Tenenbaum will remain on the board as non-executive directors.
In contrast with the board of Evraz Group S.A., the Evraz plc board will not include Otari Arshba.
