Russia-Ukraine cooperation must take into account WTO, Customs Union - Medvedev
DONETSK. Oct 18 (Interfax) - In building their economic cooperation, Russia and Ukraine must take into account issues related to the two countries' accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the formation of the Customs Union, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said.
"Of course, we need to think of the future, how to build this cooperation to reflect a whole host of factors," Medvedev said at the Second Russian-Ukrainian Inter-Regional Economic Forum in Donetsk on Tuesday.
A negative factor is the economic situation in a whole host of countries, he said. And the factors that we need to pay attention to is Ukraine's WTO membership and "Russia's likely accession to the WTO," he said.
"Also, one should not underestimate the influence of the unification of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan in the Customs Union," the president said.
