Belarus, Russia register energy sales joint venture

MINSK. Oct 20 (Interfax) - Belarus and Russia have established and registered an energy sales joint venture as part of an intergovernmental agreement regulating the parallel functioning of the two countries' energy systems, Belarusian Deputy Energy Minister Mikhail Mikhadyuk told journalists in Minsk on Thursday.

"The joint venture has already been set up and registered," he said.

Mikhadyuk, however, refused to disclose the countries' stakes in the new company's charter capital, citing commercial confidentiality reasons.

The joint venture was established by Belarusian state-run electricity company Belenergo and Russia's energy company Inter RAO UES .
