Russian stock market opens with gains, MICEX and RTS up 0.4%-0.6%
MOSCOW. Oct 21 (Interfax) - The Russian stock market opened with gains on Friday following positive trends for futures on U.S. markets. The MICEX and RTS Index increased by 0.4%-0.6% in the first minute of trading.
By 10:01 am Moscow time, the RTS had increased by 0.57% to 1,431.09 points while the MICEX had gone up by 0.43% to 1,424.93 points. The majority of benchmark stocks on the indexes increased within 1.1%.
Advancers at the start of trades on the MICEX Stock Exchange were shares in VTB , up 0.7%, Gazprom - 0.4%, Gazprom Neft - 0.6%, Lukoil - 0.4%, NOVATEK - 0.9%, Rosneft - 0.4%, Rostelecom - 0.4%, Sberbank - 1.1%, Surgutneftegas - 0.3% and Federal Grid Company UES - 0.5%.
