Kazakhstan reduces oil refining by 3.4% in 9 mths

ASTANA. Oct 21 (Interfax) - Oil refining in Kazakhstan went down by 3.4% year-on-year to 10.099 million tonnes in January-September 2011, the country's government told Interfax.

A total of 1.327 million tonnes of crude oil was refined in September.

The Pavlodar Oil Refinery reduced processing of crude by 10.2% to 3.12 million tonnes in the nine months and PetroKazakhstan Oil Products (PKOP) - down 5% to 3.745 million tonnes. In the meantime, Atyrau Oil Refinery processed 3.234 million tonnes, which was a year-on-year increase of 0.4%.

Production of car gasoline in Kazakhstan went down by 11.6% year-on-year to 1.992 million tonnes in January-September 2011, including that produced at the Pavlodar Refinery, down 12.7% to 795,588 tonnes, PKOP - up 0.4% to 813,156 tonnes and Atyrau Refinery - down 19.5% to 476,124 tonnes.

Kazakhstan's refineries produced 3.063 million tonnes of diesel fuel (down 3.9% year-on-year), 2.7387 million tonnes of heating fuel (down 3.4%), 810,843 tonnes of vacuum-gasoil (up 26.1%), 294,714 tonnes of aviation fuel (down 23.9%) and 1.5907 million tonnes of liquefied gas (down 5.5%)
