Shymkent refinery throughput down 0.5% in 9M
ALMATY. Oct 24 (Interfax) - PetroKazakhstan Oil Products LLP (PKOP), or Shymkent refinery in South Kazakhstan refined 3.745 million tonnes of oil in January-September 2011, a year-on-year decrease of 0.5%, KazMunayGas Processing and Marketing JSC told Interfax.
The oil supplies to the refinery edged down by 0.2% to 3.741 million tonnes.
In the nine months of this year the refinery produced 813,000 tonnes of gasoline (down 0.4%), 1.095 million tonnes of diesel fuel (down 0.7%) and 176,000 tonnes of aviation fuel (down 13.7%).
According to a production plan approved by the Ministry of Oil and Gas, PKOP is to refine 4.611 million tonnes of oil this year.
In 2010 the plant refined 4.6 million tons.

PetroKazakhstan is a vertically integrated group of companies engaged in oil exploration, production and processing as well as sales of petrochemicals. The company's main assets are the Shymkent refinery (in South Kazakhstan region) and stakes in 16 oil fields.
There are three refineries in Kazakhstan: in Pavlodar, Shymkent and Atyrau. All are controlled by KazMunayGas.
