IMF maintains 2011 GDP growth forecast for Kazakhstan at 6.5%

ALMATY. Oct 27 (Interfax) - The International Monetary Fund (IMF), in its latest report on economic development in countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia, has kept its GDP growth forecast for Kazakhstan in 2011 at 6.5%.

According to the document, which has been published on the IMF's website, the GDP growth forecast for Kazakhstan in 2012 has been held at 5.6%.

The IMF also maintained its inflation forecast for the country. Inflation this year should come to 8.9% and slow to 7.9% in 2012.

The Kazakh government forecasts GDP to increase in 2011 by 7% (compared to 7% GDP growth in 2010). Inflation should come within 8% this year (compared to 7.8% inflation in 2010).
