Putin to attend SCO meeting on Nov 7 in St. Petersburg

MOSCOW. Oct 28 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin will attend a meeting of the Council of heads of government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in St. Petersburg on November 7.

The meeting will be held on the occasion of the tenth anniversary since the foundation of the SCO, the government's spokesperson said.

"On the event's agenda - further improvement prospects for the organization, practical measures to advance cooperation in trade, economy, finance, science and technology, agriculture, humanitarian and other spheres," the statement said.

The attendees will also exchange views on the pressing issues of the regional and international agenda, it said.

The results of the meeting will be reflected in a joint communique and a number of resolutions to be signed by the heads of government.

Putin is due to hold meetings with the heads of a number of foreign delegations.
