Russian-Italian forum on modernization and innovations closes

VERONA, Italy. Oct 28 (Interfax) - A Russian-Italian conference entitled "Cooperation in Modernization and Innovation" and held in Verona closed on Friday.

The organizer of the two-day forum, Antonio Fallico, president of Banca Intesa in Moscow, made the final speech.

Earlier, Fallico had told Interfax that the conference was one in a series of forums that have been held in the Italian city for four years. He said one of their objectives is to help Italian banks choose Russian projects to invest in.

The conference, which brought together Russian and Italian officials and entrepreneurs, discussed state measures to stimulate modernization and innovation processes, spoke about energy-saving technologies, the use of alternatives sources of energy, innovative projects and sources of funding them, and raised infrastructural, transportation and space exploration issues.

They also paid close attention to the problem of financing innovative projects in the current crisis environment.
