SOCAR opens 11 filling stations in Romania

BAKU. Oct 31 (Interfax) - SOCAR Energy, a subsidiary of State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR), opened for business eleven SOCAR filling stations in various parts of Romania on Monday, a SOCAR statement says.

"These filling station complexes were rebuilt and repaired, their rebranding was carried out in the context of SOCAR's first investments in European Union countries. The filling stations were put into operation in strategically important regions in Romania, and also in northern regions in the country near the borders with Moldova and Ukraine," the statement says.

SOCAR now has 26 filling stations in Romania. They sell Nano 95, Nano DT, and traditional 95 and 92 octane gasoline.

Nano is an innovative fuel produced by SOCAR Energy Ukraine that has improved characteristics and was developed for use in gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles of all types.

It has been reported, citing SOCAR chief Rovnag Abdullayev as the source, that the company intends to increase the number of its filling stations in Romania to 300 in the near future.
