VTB might place additional Eurobonds in Swiss francs by year's end - Moos

MOSCOW. Nov 7 (Interfax) - VTB might place additional Eurobonds (LPNs) in Swiss francs by the end of this year, the bank's deputy chairman, Herbert Moos, told journalists on Monday.

"We might place additional bonds in Swiss francs by the end of this year," Moos said.

It was earlier reported that VTB placed four-year LPNs (loan participatory notes) worth 225 million Swiss francs ($252.3 million) with yield at 5% on October 21. Later, on October 27, the bank placed an additional 75 million Swiss francs in Eurobonds. Therefore, the total issue comes to 300 million Swiss francs ($334.4 million).

Moos also said that VTB is looking at dollar-based borrowing on the market but the situation in this regard is more complex. Furthermore, VTB is mulling the option of raising funds on Asian market but this would probably not happen this year, he said.

"We're also looking at ECPs [Eurocommercial Papers]", Moos said, adding that it is necessary to understand that this would be a very short-term debt.
