ENRC ups aluminum, iron ore output in Q3
ALMATY. Nov 10 (Interfax) - Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation (ENRC) raised aluminum production 1.6% year-on-year in Q3 2011 to 63,000 tonnes, the Kazakh miner said in a statement.
Aluminum output also rose 1.6% compared with Q2 2011.
Output of ferroalloys in Q3 2011 totaled 446,000 tonnes, a decline of 2.4% from Q3 2010 and 1.8% less than in Q2 2011. Production of ferrochrome was 344,000 tonnes, down 2% and 2.5% respectively.
Bauxite extraction in the reporting period was 2.2% up year-on-year and 2.3% up from Q2 and stood at 1.385 million tonnes; alumina production of 428,000 tonnes increased 3.6% and 4.6% respectively.
Iron ore extraction amounted to 11.358 million tonnes (an increase of 4.3% and 7%), primary iron ore concentrate production was 4.629 million tonnes (an increase of 3.4% and 2.9%), saleable iron ore concentrate was 2.550 million tonnes (2.8% down and 27.26% up), iron ore pellet production reached 1.677 million tonnes (a decrease of 0.2% and 20.1%).
Chrome ore extraction totaled 1.166 million tonnes (1.6% and 3.4% down), saleable chrome ore production was at the level of 921,000 tonnes (an increase of 3.3% and a decrease of 4%), manganese ore production was 786,000 tonnes (8.6% down and 7% up), saleable manganese concentrate reached 359,000 tonnes (an increase of 11.1% and 27.7%).
Copper ore extraction was 486,000 tonnes (an increase of 33.2% and 32.8%), saleable copper production made up 7,596 tonnes (an increase of 27.7% and 3.2%), cobalt ore extraction was 242,000 tonnes (a decrease of 11.4% and 1.2%), saleable cobalt came to 3,099 tonnes (an increase of 15.4% and 16.2%).
Coal mining output in the period came to 4.272 million tonnes (0.3% and 2.1% down).
