Medvedev: we in Russia root for euro and euro-linked economies
HONOLULU. Nov 13 (Interfax) - Russia hopes that the situation in the euro zone will be successfully resolved, President Dmitry Medvedev has said.
"We root for euro and root for economies linked with euro," he said responding to a question at the APEC business summit in Honolulu.
"I think that if the process called Europe 2.0 is launched, this can cause irreparable damage to the very idea of euro," he said.
If the number of countries of the euro zone declines, "it is not a fact that this will make euro a stronger currency," he said.
In Medvedev's opinion, if the policy developed in the euro zone recently will be implemented, "it will be the right solution of the task."
