Ukraine happy about talks with Israel on creating free trade zone - foreign minister

KYIV. Nov 14 (Interfax) - Ukraine and Israel are successfully discussing the creation of a free trade zone, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Konstantin Hryshchenko said while meeting with his Israeli counterpart Avigdor Lieberman.

"Ukraine and Israel are successfully negotiating the creation of a free trade zone, which will considerably promote trade turnover between the two countries," the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry press service quoted Hryshchenko as saying.

The two ministers pointed out that the number of Ukrainians visiting Israel and the number of Israeli citizens visiting Ukraine has doubled in the nine months following the enactment of the visa waiver agreement.

Hryshchenko pointed out that Ukraine is interested in resolving the formalities with the increase of the number of Ukrainian airline flights to Israel.

The meeting between Hryshchenko and Israeli President Shimon Peres addressed the preparations for the Ukrainian president's upcoming visit to Israel.

Hryshchenko is now on an official visit to Israel.
