Kazakh trade surplus up 60% in 10M
ALMATY. Nov 14 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan posted a foreign trade surplus of $39.8 billion in January-October, a 60% year-on-year increase, the country's State Statistics Agency reported.
Trade turnover was up 41.3% at $91.9 billion, with exports up 49.9% at $65.8 billion and imports up 23.5% at $26.05 billion.
Kazakhstan exported goods and services worth $5.27 billion to countries in the Customs Union (with Russia and Belarus), a 53.3% increase, as imports from CU members rose 23.5% to $12.086 billion.
The bulk of the country's exports went to China (17.9% of overall exports), to Italy (16.5%), and Russia (8.6%). Russia accounted for 44.9% of overall imports, China for 12.5%, and Germany and Ukraine for 4.9% each.
