Russian, German partners to build 20 bioenergy plants in Belgorod, Voronezh regions

MOSCOW. Nov 16 (Interfax) - The companies GazEnergoStroy, KTG, Toennies Fleisch and Agroimport have signed an agreement to create a joint enterprise for constructing 20 bioenergy plants in the Belgorod and Voronezh regions, or ten in each region, GazEnergoStroy said in a press release.

Each biogas plant will have a designed capacity of 1 to 1.5 MW. Waste from pig farms and crops will serve as the processed material. A few installations are expected to be mounted at CJSC Aleksei Bacon, which Agroimport jointly owns with the German company Toennies Fleisch. The project's total cost exceeds 6.5 billion rubles. The plants will be installed in 2012-2014. In addition, a large biogas plant powered by a meat packing plant in the Belgorod region, with a capacity of 5 MW, will be built.

BioGazEnergoStroy (a subdivision of GazEnergoStroy) will be the project's general contractor and a co-investor (50% - the other 50% will be paid for by the joint venture's other participants). The rest of the participants will provide co-financing, construction sites for the bioenergy plant on their pig farms and material for producing biogas.

In order to provide for unified command and facility design, a unified engineering center will be built in Germany.

BioGazEnergoStroy developed and installed a biogas power plant in the Kaluga region in 2009. The company currently has 50 bioenergy plant projects in the design stage.
